Shokunin Store is proud to introduce our brilliant “Shokunin” contributors. We choose who we work with carefully. Our contributors are not only super talented and professional but they work with a great social conscience in mind.
Mr. Akira Kubo, Guide Design (Logo Design)
Akira is a talented graphic designer based in Hiroshima, Japan. After working in Tokyo taking on big assignments for companies like McCann Erickson, he established his own company in 2004, and went back to his birthplace Hiroshima to work with smaller local companies in order to make a difference in the regional economies. He has won numerous awards including the top award for 2016 Hiroshima Art Directors Club competition.
Akira and his A team Makiko created the logo of Shokunin Store.
Mrs. Georgia Tang, Trek Web Design (Web Development)
Georgia is a freelance web designer and developer based in Newcastle, NSW. She works one on one with clients to develop custom WordPress websites.
Georgia has designed and developed this website for Shokunin Store in May 2021.
With the refreshed look and improved functionalities developed by Trek Web Design, Shokunin Store has tripled its sales in 6 months since launching the new website.
Ms Yukari Sweeney, Yukari Sweeney Design (Camellia Oil Label Design)
YSD London is a surface design company, led by the head designer Yukari Sweeney. After training at Eley Kishimoto and Paul Smith in 2008, she established YSD, an Eco-conscious company to create beautiful designs for wallpapers, cushions, curtains and other home accessories. YSD design has worked with Debenhams, WALPA, Anthropologie, Firefly House and Setouchi Denim Company their products are distributed across the world including Europe, North America, Asia and Australasia.
Yukari designed the label for Camellia Seeds Oil for Shokunin Store. Her design is used in the top section of this Contributor’s page.
Ms. Hilary McNevin, Turnip Media (Food & Media)
Hilary McNevin worked in hospitality for 15 years before before becoming a Melbourne-based freelance food writer. She has contributed to many respected media such as goodfood, The Age, The Guardian, SBS Food, The Australian and Broadsheet. Hilary has also co-authored food related books and edited an award-winning book “Temples of BBQ” by Lance Rosen and was the Australian contributor of “1001 Restaurants You Must Experience Before You Die”. Hilary founded Turnip Media in 2018 to work with food and drinks businesses, restaurants, retailers, producers, suppliers and purveyors to help them tell their stories through digital platforms. She creates contents, develops brand, maintains media connections and designs collaborations and events.
Hilary works as a PR consultant and campaign planner for Shokunin Store’s “Kasane Knives”.
Global Sisters (Business Support)
Global Sisters is a NPO supporting female entrepreneurs in Australia through business education, development, micro-finance, networking and creating opportunities to accelerate business growth, making self-employment a viable option for women.
Global Sisters has supported Shokunin Store and its co-founder Yuko by providing various business training and creating sales and marketing opportunities. #BackHerBrilliance
