Hidehisa “Ohkubo Long” Garden Scissors are visually beautiful and ergonomically designed. The scissors are wonderfully versatile, used as both secateurs and floral scissors. Why Use Scissor Type instead of Secateurs?
If you are after precision in pruning, scissor type cutting tools are much easier to control, as opposed to secateurs type. Japanese gardening require precision and detail work whether it be pruning pines or shaping balls. Many traditional Japanese gardeners are first trained using these Ohkubo type scissors rather than secateur type tools. These “Ohkubo Long” garden scissors allow you to take care of variety of gardening tasks including pruning, bonsai and floral work. Large looped handles are ergonomically designed to make it easier to hold, grip and work for a long period of time.

Care Instructions
-Do not cut hard objects such as wire and dried flowers with these scissors. These floral scissors and secateurs are specifically designed to cut raw branches and stems and the blades are finely adjusted for this purpose.
-Do not sharpen the back of the blades if you are not familiar with Japanese shears (concave).
– To maintain the sharpness and if you are not using them for a while, say 6 months, we recommend you apply a drop of Japanese camellia seed oil around the rivet. Open and close a few times and wipe off any excess oil.
