Japanese Dressmakers Shears Bansyu 101 Three Colour Options

Japanese Dressmaking Shears Banshu 101

$460.00

Techniques of Banshu cutlery have been handed down to chosen craftsmen in the region called Banshu (near Kobe and Osaka) which is known to be a top blacksmithery region of Japan and its history goes back to 1,200 years.  These shears are a part of Banshu Hamono 101 collection which compliments traditional techniques and its long history by adding modern flavours in colours and styles.  Due to the difference in steel and techniques used, dressmaking shears range from cheap to expensive.  These Japanese dressing shears Banshu 101 are of high quality made using high carbon steel from Nippon Steel (using Hitachi Yasugi Steel White Paper Grade) which requires experienced craftsmen to handle.  In addition to sharpness, it is also excellent in durability.  It’s ideal for cutting fabrics and threads,  You can also cut materials such as vinyl but do not cut hard objects such as wire or wood as this will cause the blades to chip.  We do not recommend cutting paper as the rivet of these shears is finely adjusted for cutting fabrics and threads.

Choose from Matt White, Matt Gray and Matt Black.

Care Instructions
-Do not cut hard objects such as wire and dried flowers with these scissors. These floral scissors and secateurs are specifically designed to cut thread or fabric and the blades are finely adjusted for this purpose.
-Do not sharpen the back of the blades if you are not familiar with Japanese shears (concave).
– To maintain the sharpness and if you are not using them for a while, say 6 months, we recommend you apply a drop of Japanese camellia oil around the rivet.  Open and close a few times and wipe off any excess oil.
