Description
This robust traditional Japanese garden knife “Hori Hori” is a multi purpose beauty. It is handmade from high quality Japanese steel and features a tapered hardwood handle. Even the sturdy serrated edge is done by hand, not by machine. Having a straight edge on one side and serrated on the other, the versatile design makes it both practice and beautiful. The blade is concave, making it easy to dig out and drill easily. The “Hori Hori” (literary translates as “dig dig”) can be used as a hand trowel or digging out perennial weeds. You can use it for bedding and plugging plants. It is also handy to clean out roots before excavating or cutting them.
The maker of this amazing craft is a Japanese family who has developed this tool originally for harvesting fiddlehead ferns and similar types of wild vegetables. Comes from the world renowned blacksmith town of Miki, Japan.
