Unlike mass-produced saws, each piece is meticulously handcrafted by a single artisan, Mr. Sudo, with only about 10 saws produced per shipping cycle. This level of dedication ensures an unparalleled level of precision and quality that machine-made alternatives simply cannot match.

Designed for effortless cutting and portability, this Japanese pull saw features a butterfly-style folding mechanism, allowing for one-handed operation. When extended, a built-in magnet lock secures the blade, providing stability for precise cutting.

If the blade becomes damaged or dull, it can be resharpened through 目立て (Metate), the traditional Japanese technique of saw sharpening—a skill that is slowly disappearing in the age of mass production.

Originally designed for pruning fruit trees and gardens in Japan, this handcrafted compact Japanese pull saw has been refined for international use. Its pull-cut mechanism ensures effortless cutting with minimal force, making it ideal for woodworking, pruning, and outdoor applications. To better serve versatile international users, we’ve enhanced its durability by refining the design of the blade’s teeth and slightly increasing its thickness. This adjustment delivers robust performance and minimises the risk of breakage, resulting in a reliable and adaptable tool for every application.

Tips for Best Use

• Japanese saws cut on the pull stroke. Apply pressure only when you pull the saw. Do not apply pressure when returning the blade.
• Do not apply excessive force—let the saw do the work. Maintain a stable posture and saw in a straight line for smooth operation.

Handling & Safety Precautions

• Open and close with care—use both hands to prevent accidental injury. When flipping open, feel for the carved groove on the handle to ensure you grip the correct side.
• Avoid cutting wood with dirt, mud, or stones, as this will dull the blade quickly.
• After cleaning, apply a thin layer of anti-rust oil to protect the blade.
• Keep the saw dry and clean after use. Apply a thin layer of 100% pure camellia oil for longevity.
• Store in a dry place, away from moisture to preserve the wooden handle.
• If the blade becomes dull, seek professional sharpening rather than attempting to sharpen it yourself.Please Note: The wood used for the handle may vary from the image.
