This collection of knives originated from a heartfelt request Yamashita-san received from a mother who wanted a craft knife that her daughter could safely practice sharpening pencils with. Inspired by this request, Yamashita-san embarked on a journey of prototyping and creativity, resulting in the creation of his first whale knife featuring the sperm whale design. Not only did this knife capture the hearts of children, but adults also adored its charm. Yamashita-san went on to design additional craft knives, each featuring different types of whales such as the Male Minke Whale, Female Minke Whale, Fin Whale, and Brady’s Whale. While the later models are designed with a pointier tip and cater to more mature users, their versatility appeals to people of all ages.
